Marianne L. Stevenson
Chief Executive Officer
Marianne L. Stevenson founded Strategy Aero Group in early 2008. She is primarily responsible for setting the company’s vision and business strategies.
Mrs. Stevenson joined the company from Applera Corporation, a Fortune 500 corporation, where she had served as Senior Manager of Executive Logistics since 2000. At Applera Corporation, she played a vital role in the coordination of executive level travel and safety. Before Applera, Mrs. Stevenson was with Air Transport International from 1997-1999, where she performed international operations within a Part 121 airline. From 1992-1996, Mrs. Stevenson preformed Russian linguistics aboard a RC-135 airborne platform with the United States Air Force military intelligence.
Mrs. Stevenson formed and serves as President of AERObridge, an NBAA endorsed organization which coordinates private aviation assets during catastrophic domestic emergencies when traditional institutions require assistance.
Mrs. Stevenson received a bachelor’s degree in political science in 1992 from Trinity College Hartford, CT.
Thomas R. Lawson
Senior Vice President
Strategic Operations Officer
Thomas R. Lawson joined the company in late 2008 and is responsible for the management of all strategic operations involving aviation support for government agencies with emergency response missions worldwide.
Mr. Lawson joined the company from the Department of Energy (DOE) Headquarters, Washington, DC as a senior contractor in the Emergency Response Division. Mr. Lawson advised and directed radiological emergency response teams worldwide in the search and disposition of radiological Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD). In this capacity Mr. Lawson supervised aviation resources, ground assets, and communication systems for the department with all other federal agencies having emergency response functions under the Stafford Act and National Response Plan (NRP).
Mr. Lawson has spent the last 20 years working for numerous Department of Energy contractors at all DOE Defense Nuclear Production Plants located across the country.
Mr. Lawson has a strong science, chemistry, and physics background with his specialty being nuclear material processing and weapons production engineering. He attended Texas A&M School of Engineering from 1988-1991 and holds certificates as a Hazardous Materials Technician and Incident Commander from Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX).
Mr. Lawson retired from the U.S. Army in 1984 with 20 years active service with the 82nd Airborne Division and the 5th, 6th, and 7th Special Forces Groups, 1st Special Operations Command. He served two combat tours in the Republic of Viet Nam and was awarded seven air medals and four Bronze Stars with “V” device for Valor.
Robert J. Wegner
Senior Vice President
Standards and Training
Client Relations Officer
Robert J. Wegner joined Strategy Aero Group in September of 2008. He is primarily responsible for setting, implementation and enforcement of the Standard of Operating Procedures. Mr. Wegner is also responsible for Flight Crew Training and Training Vendor Quality Assurance. Mr. Wegner is also a Client Relations Officer assisting the client’s flight departments in daily operations.
Mr. Wegner joined the company from Life Technologies Corporation, formerly Applera Corporation, where he was the Director of Aviation. Mr. Wegner joined Applera Corporation in 2000 and worked until the transfer of the department during a merger. Prior to Applera Corporation, Mr. Wegner was the Account Manager with Wayfarer Aviation (later TAG Aviation), 1977 – 2000, in White Plains, NY where he managed the accounts for the Rockefeller fleet of aircraft and the Chase Bank flight departments. Mr. Wegner was also the Director of Operations and Chief Pilot for Interair Services in St. Petersburg, FL managing their large Charter Fleet for 4 years. Mr. Wegner is a decorated U.S. Army Helicopter Pilot serving from 1969 through 1971 in Vietnam.
Dennis L. Winger
Business and Financial Associate
Dennis L. Winger has advised the company since late 2008 in the area of Business and Finance. He has assisted in setting the company's financial and business strategies.
Mr. Winger previously was employed with Applera Corporation where he had served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He was a member of the company’s Executive Committee and was the Chair of the Steering Committee. Mr. Winger joined Applera Corp. from Chiron Corporation where he had served as Senior Vice President, Finance and Administration, and Chief Financial Officer since 1989. At Chiron, he played a key role in shaping the company's financial and business strategy. He oversaw the financial development of its five different businesses and all of its financial operations. Before Chiron, Mr. Winger was with Cooper Companies, Inc., in Palo Alto, CA from 1982 to 1989, where he held positions of increasing responsibility, including that of Chief Financial Officer. Prior to his position at Cooper Companies, Mr. Winger held a number of management positions with Continental Can Company, including Head of Finance for its international division and General Manager of Latin American Operations.
Mr. Winger received a bachelor's degree in history in 1969 from Siena College, and an MBA in finance and marketing in 1974 from Columbia University.
